Rod Proctor

Rod Proctor has over thirty years of experience managing technology companies. Rod has been the CEO of five companies. Some of the companies he has been associated with are: Physio-Control, Proctor & Associates, SeaMED, Technical Arts, Tone Commander Systems, Teltone, Advanced Electronic Applications, and Airbiquity. Rod has a strong background in product development, manufacturing, marketing and business development with concentrations in the telecommunications, biomedical and energy businesses. He believes that corporate cultures are the key to success and has spent his life working on the development of winning cultures.
Rod has seven recent patents in the area of wireless communications. His concept for a battery-operated portable defibrillator became the leading product for Medtronic Physio-Control and is still its best selling product. Rod has the ability to quickly access complex issues and reduce them to their essential components. He is a respected consultant to a number of organizations, advising them on organizational, financial, and technology issues.
Rod is very active in a variety of industry associations and non-profits. He is a past Chairman of the AeA (American Electronics Association) and past recipient of its Distinguished Service Award and is currently on the Executive Committee. He was active in the creation of the Branch Campuses of the University of Washington and served as the Chairman of the UW Bothell’s Citizens Advisory Board. Rod served on the Board of City University and as an advisor to Seattle Public Schools Finance Department. He was also on the Advisory Board of Seattle Pacific University’s Electrical Engineering Department. He has been on several corporate and non-profit boards.
Rod holds a BSEE from Washington State University and is currently working on his MBA in Technology Management.
